Prairie Ceramics manufactures a versatile 99% Alumina coating. This coating can be used to protect kiln linings and kiln furniture from chemical attack. The Alumina coating can be sprayed or painted on. When used on fiber linings, the coating can help make the lining more thermally efficient and extend the life of the lining. We like it for sealing and hardening 1700C board linings.

Our most common application is to paint onto Recrystallized Silicon Carbide tile and beams to prevent the silica from sticking to parts.

In lead environments it works great for extending lining life of brick or fiber.
